...is turning out to be more difficult than I expected. I’m sorry, but if you need 8 hours and $95, you obviously have other things you’d rather be doing.
Sorry to rehash this topic again, but I’m not in a situation where I can do it myself.
(And apparently I’m also not in a situation to add a photo to this post. Thanks Kinja!)
EDIT: the Maserati/Fiat dealer called me back and I'm now drinking coffee from a machine that probably cost more than my car. These guys are awesome.

Shhhhh...don't tell anyone, but, I have been taking both of my cars to the same Jiffy Lube for the past 5 years because like you I am short on time, and everything has been ok.

That’s only like $12 an hour - helluva deal. More than likely you are not the center of their universe and they can’t guarantee a time for you, so they can only say it’ll be done after a whole day.
Also, $95? Would that be for synthetic oil? Seems a bit steep, but I know changing my own oil costs me at least $50 for oil and $10 for an oil filter.

That sounds crazy steep. The AAMCO (don’t judge the owner is awesome and actually knows what he’s doing and who to hire) charges under $70 for full synthetic and I’m usually done within 45 minutes to an hour

how could an oil change take 8 hours?
ok I get it for my snowmobile, A yamaha venture mp, you have to take the seat, gas tank off and all of the plastics to get to the oil filter. but a car no way.

I hope that’s not the dealer, because that’s rediculous. I think our subaru with full synthetic and a tire rotate is 59.95 at the dealer and it usually takes <45 minutes.

It’s full synthetic, but this particular shop also insists on using Ferrari branded oil or something in my car (it takes 8 hours because they have to wait for the oil to be delivered). I’m not going there, they’re just the only ones who will guarantee they can do it.

It's ridiculous. It's $55 at the dealer.

Seems like they really don’t want to do it then. Is there another indie where you live?

Nah, it's a highly rated indie shop, but also highly over-prices. They tried to screw me on brakes once too. Waiting to hear back from the dealer - they're much cheaper but not close enough to risk going without an appointment.

About 800, I just don’t feel like a guessing game today. I had such bad luck with my old car at local shops and it was much cheaper to repair.

I’m sorry I forget but what car is this for?
And is it full synthetic?

Abarth. Yeah, full synthetic. I’ve actually had one shop tell me they didn’t think they could do an oil change on one. It’s a Fiat, for pete’s sake.

I take mine to the dealer too. Its easier.

Synthetic oil? I guess thats the price you pay for Nurburgring levels of performance :P

I’ve found that I can usually get online coupons from the local Mazda dealers and have them do the work for less than $30, usually about $26, and I know I’m getting OEM parts and the recommended oil. Plus they throw in a free wash (if it’s not winter...) At that price it’s worth every penny.
